Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Horizontal Directional Drill Operator to join our team at InterCon Construction, Inc. The ideal candidate will have experience installing gas mains and fiber optic cables, as well as a Class A CDL and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work on small horizontal directional drilling projects
  • Prepare work sites to locate utilities and eliminate hazards
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials and tools
  • Hand dig to clear debris for operators
  • Check utilities and clearances
  • Safely and efficiently operate tools and equipment based on job requirements
  • Fuse and prepare HDPE pipe, assemble fittings and parts to specifications
  • Position, join, align, and seal pipe sections
  • Assist with drilling fluid mixing and clean-up
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of reamers and operate reamers without assistance
  • Assist with job site clean-up

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Class A CDL required
  • Education in Gas and/or Utilities Construction preferred
  • Experience installing gas mains and fiber optic cables preferred
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Must be able to bend, kneel, stand, and walk for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull 50 lbs. regularly
  • Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
