Job Title: Temp Aide - Lunch Support Position Function: The primary role of the Temp Aide lunch Support is to supervise and assist students in the lunch room and during recess, ensuring their safety and well-being. Essential Performance Responsibilities:
  1. Observe and monitor assigned students in the lunch room and playground, maintaining a safe and secure environment.
  2. Maintain a close distance from students to ensure their safety and provide clear instructions.
  3. Inspect the playground to ensure it is free of hazards and obstacles.
  4. Supervise students using playground equipment, ensuring their safety and proper use.
Additional Duties: Assist with additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor. Equipment: This position may require the use of SMART boards, iPads, and basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, and fax machines. Travel: Limited travel between schools and central offices may be required. Physical and Mental Demands:
  1. Work in standard office and school building environments.
  2. Ability to work outdoors during outdoor student activities.
  3. Additional demands may be requested by the Principal or Superintendent.
  4. Must be able to respond rapidly in emergency situations.

  2. Ability to communicate effectively with a Supervisor when discretion is needed.

Interrelations:
  1. Contact with personnel within the district and with customers and vendors.
  2. Work under the direct supervision of the department supervisor to complete day-to-day tasks.
  3. Work with a diverse population, requiring the ability to handle all situations with tact and diplomacy.
  4. Must understand and respond appropriately to customer needs and maintain a positive attitude with all customers and colleagues.
  5. Expected to interact with all internal and external customers in a friendly, professional manner and provide quick, responsive customer service.
Employee Punctuality and Appearance:
  1. Employees are expected to perform all assigned duties and work all scheduled hours during each designated workday, unless approved leave is received.
  2. Any deviation from assigned hours must have prior approval from the employee's supervisor or building administrator.
  3. All employees are required to report to work dressed in a manner that reflects a positive image of Wichita Public Schools and is appropriate for their position.
Qualification Profile:
  1. High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
