Satellite Assembly Engineer for Kuiper Project

A high-growth opportunity exists for an experienced Satellite Assembly Engineer to join the Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC team. Our satellite assembly engineers are responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality and precision in our satellites, which will provide fast, affordable broadband access to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
Salary
The estimated salary for this role is $61,360 - $75,920 per year, based on a number of factors including market location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Satellite Assembly Engineer to work closely with cross-functional engineering, test, quality, and operations teams on both first-article hardware development and production hardware integration processes. This position requires expertise in mechanical assembly, avionics integration, rigging, electrical checkouts, and environmental testing. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building the Kuiper satellite, ensuring high-quality workmanship, and adhering to safety standards on a daily basis.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
- 1+ years of experience in mechanical or electrical hardware assembly, test, and/or installation
- Experience in the aerospace industry, automotive industry, medical device industry, aviation, military, or other high-reliability operating environment
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, work instructions, and standard operating procedures
- Willingness to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed
- Ability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive assembly operations, climb ladders, and lift at least 25 lbs unassisted
