At Ultra Electronics Ocean Systems Inc., we're seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining manufacturing processes in our industrial plant.

Your primary focus will be on developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods, utilizing your knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.

You'll work closely with our engineering team to ensure Design for Manufacturing (DFM) methods are incorporated into product design. Additionally, you'll prepare manufacturing documentation, including process flow charts and work instructions, to facilitate efficient production processes.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll be responsible for:

  • Transitions new products into production (NPI)
  • Collaborating with manufacturing personnel to ensure smooth production processes
  • Analyzing and planning workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow
  • Designing layouts of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
  • Conferring with vendors to arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts
  • Estimating production times, staffing requirements, and other costs related to the manufacturing process
  • Performing debugging and troubleshooting efforts on defective items
