The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and exceptional attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Payroll Processing: Accurately process and manage payroll for all employees, including calculating wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Timekeeping: Review and verify employee timesheets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and labor laws.
  • Compliance: Ensure all payroll activities comply with federal, state, and local tax regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Tax Reporting: Prepare and file payroll tax reports, including quarterly and annual returns, and ensure timely payment of payroll taxes.
  • Benefits Administration: Process employee benefit deductions, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits.
  • Garnishments: Manage and process wage garnishments, levies, and other court-ordered deductions.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records, including employee earnings, deductions, tax withholdings, and leave balances.
  • Employee Support: Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll benefits and deductions, providing clear and accurate information.
  • Reconciliation: Reconcile payroll accounts, including bank reconciliations, and ensure accuracy in the general ledger.
  • Year-End Processing: Prepare and distribute W2 forms to employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IRS regulations.
  • Reporting: Generate and maintain payroll-related reports, including payroll summaries, tax filings, and benefit reports.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the payroll function and recommend solutions.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing or related accounting roles.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g. ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and payroll processing.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Knowledge: Thorough understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
