Nitsch Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to lead our team in Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in structural design, project management, and team supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and oversee all aspects of structural engineering projects for local and state government clients.
  • Staff and supervise the project team, coordinating their efforts and making decisions that reflect the interests of both the company and its clients.
  • Review projects for compliance with company policies and standards.
  • Perform technical quality control reviews.
  • Confer with clients and obtain timely decisions and approvals to ensure project flow.
  • Oversee the preparation of construction documents, specifications, estimates, and engineering reports.
  • Perform structural analysis and prepare preliminary and final designs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a Structural focus.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Massachusetts or ability to obtain MA PE within one year if licensed in another state.
  • At least 15 years of experience in structural design, with recent experience as a Project Manager preferred.
  • Thorough familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and structural software such as STAAD, AASHTOWare bridge rating, and Bentley's Bridge Design.
  • Familiarity with building design codes and MassDOT's bridge design policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of project management roles and responsibilities and a history of successful client management.
