Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team at Simpson Gumpertz and Heger Inc. As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing structures to ensure they are safe and functional.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate and analyze structural systems to identify potential issues and develop solutions
  • Design and detail structural elements, including beams, columns, and foundations
  • Conduct site investigations to document existing conditions and develop investigation reports
  • Prepare contract drawings and specifications for repair designs and new structure design
  • Execute construction administration phase of projects, including bid assistance, submittal review, site meetings, and observations of completed work
Requirements:
  • Master of Science or Master of Engineering in Structural Engineering
  • Structural Engineering (16-hour structural exam) license required
  • Proficiency in writing and editing of project specifications, technical reports, field reports, project correspondence, and proposals
  • Experience with computer analysis software, such as SAP2000, ETABS, RISA, RAM, and SAFE
  • Familiarity with design codes and standards including IBC, ASCE 7, and material design standards produced by AISC, ACI, TMS, and NDS
