Responsibilities
  • Provides quality, confidential, professional, and age-specific nutrition care.
  • Utilizes information regarding patients' medical, psychological, cultural, spiritual, ethical, and social needs in developing and implementing the nutrition care plan.
  • Possesses and applies knowledge of the Nutrition Care Process advocated by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition/Food Service Management, Dietetics, or a related field is required.
  • Masters of Science in Nutrition or a related field is preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in a hospital setting or nursing home is preferred.
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) with the Commission of Dietetic Registration through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is required.
  • Successful completion of an ACEND-accredited Dietetic Internship program or registration eligible with a verification statement must pass the registration examination for Dietitians within 6 months of hire.
Working Conditions

Works in a clean, well-lit, heated, or ventilated facility. Frequent contact with various Medical Center staff, employees, and community members. May be exposed to odors, chemical agents, dust, fumes, gases, sharp objects, hazardous or moving equipment, wet slippery floors, and extremes in temperature and humidity.

Physical Demands

Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate point-of-sale systems, computers, and office equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing, and/or constant walking. Ability to lift 10 lbs.

Mental Demands

Ability to foster collaborative relationships, work well under pressure, organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks. Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills, and flexibility. Ability to multi-task. Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled. Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations.
