Position Overview:
The Electrical Welding Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the automated laser welding systems within the Cold Rolling Mill. This position involves analyzing, troubleshooting, and overseeing the maintenance and enhancement of all electro-mechanical systems to align with the operational objectives of the organization.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and enhance the reliability of automated CO2 laser welding equipment and related systems.
  • Troubleshoot and perform maintenance on complex electromechanical systems, including hydraulics, gearboxes, laser optics, PLCs, HMIs, motor drives, and communication systems.
  • Engage in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFAs) to address operational delays and implement Corrective Actions (CAs) to prevent future issues.
  • Initiate and implement continuous improvement strategies for equipment reliability, including the development and review of preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Utilize SAP software for maintenance activities, including notifications, work orders, and spare parts management.
  • Provide training, coaching, and mentorship to maintenance technicians and operational team members.
  • Develop and audit Energy Control Procedures (ECPs) to ensure safety during maintenance activities.
  • Participate in local and international travel for training and best practice sharing.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in maintenance within an industrial setting, preferably in the steel manufacturing sector.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, practices, and technical drawings.
  • Ability to learn and utilize PLC programming platforms and power distribution systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with industrial CO2 laser welding systems and optics.
  • Knowledge of process automation applications and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with SAP or similar Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Understanding of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) practices.

Work Environment:
This role will be conducted in both office and industrial settings, with a focus on safety and teamwork. The position may require extended hours during peak workloads and participation in an on-call rotation.
