The Electromechanical Welding Specialist will play a vital role in enhancing the operational efficiency of automated welding systems. This position involves troubleshooting, analyzing, and recommending improvements for electro-mechanical systems to align with organizational objectives.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in maintenance within an industrial setting, ideally in the steel sector.
- Proficient understanding of electrical engineering principles, technical drawings, and precision tolerances.
- Ability to learn and utilize PLC programming platforms, including ladder logic and function block logic.
- Familiarity with power distribution systems, motor drives, sensors, and communication protocols.
- Competence in hydraulic and mechanical drive systems, including alignment techniques.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint).
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of industrial CO2 laser welding systems and optical technologies.
- Experience with process automation applications.
- Understanding of hydraulic systems, power transmission, and complex machinery alignments.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Experience with process trending software such as IBA.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot intricate technical issues.
- Knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) practices.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure the reliability and continuous improvement of automated CO2 laser welding systems and related equipment.
- Conduct troubleshooting and maintenance on complex electromechanical systems, including hydraulics, gearboxes, laser optics, PLCs, HMIs, motor drives, and communication systems.
- Engage in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFAs) to address operational delays and implement Corrective Actions (CAs) to prevent recurrence.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by developing and reviewing preventive maintenance plans and enhancing functional location details and material master data in SAP.
- Perform maintenance tasks using SAP software, including notifications, work orders, and service entries.
- Mentor and train maintenance technicians and operational team members.
- Develop and audit Energy Control Procedures (ECPs) to ensure safety during maintenance activities.
