Job Title: Extension Agent - 4-H Youth Development

North Carolina A&T State University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Extension Agent to join our team in Harnett County. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating effective and comprehensive 4-H educational programs that meet the needs of the county's limited resource youth from ages 5-19.

Job Summary:
  • Develop and implement 4-H educational programs that align with the mission and priorities established by the National 4-H Council and the Cooperative Extension Program at NC A&T.
  • Collaborate with county and community-based organizations to deliver programs and recruit program participants.
  • Conduct needs assessments to determine program needs and priorities.
  • Organize, communicate, and deliver course materials in formal and informal instructional settings.
  • Evaluate data collected from multiple sources to determine program impacts.
Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement 4-H educational programs that meet the needs of limited resource youth.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with county and community-based organizations to deliver programs and recruit participants.
  • Conduct needs assessments to determine program needs and priorities.
  • Organize and deliver course materials in formal and informal instructional settings.
  • Evaluate program impacts and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Masters degree in a field related to child or youth development.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Ability to work and interact with diverse populations.
  • Computer literacy (proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Office).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands and set priorities.
  • Ability to network with community partners and agencies and maintain working relationships.
  • Valid driver's license and personal transportation.
  • Ability to travel and work after hours/weekends as needed.
  • Ability to lift and carry training supplies, publications, and equipment needed for training programs.
