Life Skills Transition Program Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced Life Skills Instructor to join our team at The GEO Group, the industry's global leader in evidence-based rehabilitation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping individuals with self-esteem, problem-solving, relationships, and other related issues prepare for reentry into the community.
About the Role:
As a Life Skills Instructor, you will provide general classroom guidance for career planning, social adjustment, life skills, and personal management. You will also help inmates identify community resources and develop an individual post-release plan, encouraging them to assume responsibility for their post-release behaviors and activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement effective life skills programs to enhance inmate participation and pre-release readiness
- Assess inmate needs and refer them to appropriate staff members
- Develop and review curriculums and resources to ensure alignment with rehabilitation goals
- Maintain accurate records of inmate progress and program evaluations
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent certification required
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- Relevant teaching and/or counseling experience in a correctional setting preferred
- Appropriate valid teaching certification if required by the client agency
