Position Overview: Taxation Strategy Manager

Are you prepared to take charge and innovate in the intricate realm of tax accounting? We are on the lookout for a Taxation Strategy Manager to work closely with our Senior Director of Tax, overseeing and managing our income, sales, use, and property taxes across various jurisdictions. This role is essential in ensuring the precision, punctuality, and integrity of our tax filings and associated compliance reporting, while also evaluating tax scenarios and communicating strategies throughout the organization.

In this capacity, you will manage both direct and indirect tax operations to guarantee full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, effectively minimizing risks and liabilities. Your expertise will be vital in the design, maintenance, and execution of our ERP system's tax-related components to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs. You will also provide insights into product taxability across different jurisdictions, offer tax guidance, and implement tax planning initiatives.

We seek a leader who is eager to develop and mentor our Indirect Tax team, ensuring they are proficient in tax research methodologies and remain informed about industry trends and evolving regulations. Your collaboration with the Senior Tax Director in making informed tax decisions will be invaluable, as will your involvement in preparing and managing our departmental budget.

This position entails supervisory responsibilities, requiring you to cultivate, coach, and mentor your team, conduct performance assessments, and manage disciplinary actions when necessary.

Qualifications:
  • MBA or Master's degree in Accounting with 2 years of progressive tax experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility OR Bachelor's degree with 5 years of progressive tax experience including supervisory experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Willingness to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or Master's degree in Accounting with 5 years of progressive tax experience including 2 years in a tax leadership role reflecting increasing levels of responsibility OR Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 7 years of tax experience including supervisory or managerial experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • CPA certification.
  • Previous experience in the manufacturing or agricultural sector.
  • Experience in developing and implementing processes, procedures, systems, and standards.
  • Ability to effectively act as a change agent.
  • Strong management skills to provide motivational guidance and direction.
