Job Summary

This is a grant-funded position for a specified duration. As an Administrative Support Specialist, you will work under the supervision of the Administrative Technician and provide administrative support to the Shelby County Women, Infant, and Children program (WIC) and other programs as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule appointments and register participants for WIC and other services at a public health clinic.
  • Maintain medical records, including filing, purging, and transferring participant charts to other clinic locations.
  • Explain food packages and voucher issuance to eligible participants.
  • Attend quarterly training sessions to stay up-to-date on program requirements.
  • Answer phones and respond to inquiries from the public.
  • Verify patient immunization records to ensure compliance with program guidelines.
  • Re-certify participants according to program guidelines.
Requirements
  • Two years of experience in clerical or bookkeeping work, or one year of experience with one year of college study (30 semester hours or 36 quarters).
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and the public.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $41,000 - $60,000 per year, commensurate with experience and education. This is a full-time position that requires flexibility to work at multiple locations as needed.
