About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interventional Radiologic Technologist II to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our radiology department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Advanced Imaging Equipment: Proficiently operate angiographic and ultrasound equipment to perform complex procedures on inpatients and outpatients, including carotid stenting, cerebral intervention, and aortic aneurysm repair.
  • Assist with Interventional Procedures: Assist physicians with interventional and surgical procedures, providing competent knowledge of equipment and options, and serving as a resource for procedural equipment.
  • Monitor Patient Care: Monitor patients and alert staff of life-threatening changes in patient status, applying the defibrillator and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation when required.
  • Process and Label Images: Identify and process images, ensuring diagnostic quality, and accurately label images with patient information.
  • Maintain Records and Billing: Maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system, documenting billing codes for procedures performed.
  • Provide Education and Support: Serve as a technical resource, role model, and preceptor for students and staff, facilitating clinical problem-solving and collaborating with other departments to provide education on managing patients after procedures.
Requirements
  • Licensure and Certification: Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin, Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Education and Experience: Advanced training beyond high school in Radiologic Technology, and typically 2 years of experience in an Interventional Radiologic Technologist role.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Advanced knowledge in radiology positioning and techniques, anatomy, and radiation safety, as well as proficiency in suturing vascular access sheaths and intermediate computer skills.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday, and perform tasks that require lifting, pushing, and pulling with 30 lbs. of force.
  • Environmental Factors: May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids, requiring personal protective equipment.
