Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse I assists at the advanced beginner level in providing individualized, goal-directed nursing care to patients and families utilizing principles and practices of the nursing process; interacts with other members of the healthcare team to achieve desired outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Assists in providing holistic care for patients with internal medicine issues of an acute and chronic nature.
  • Works on the 7East Medical Acute Care Unit, a 26-bed inpatient Medical-Surgical Unit providing care to an adult and geriatric patient population.
  • Participates in research studies, including the Liberate Pulmonary Study, Alzheimer's, Renew, Melanoma, Plexifor, IV Carbamazepine, and Yohimbine.
  • Collaborates with the healthcare team to provide patient-centered care.
  • Utilizes principles and practices of the nursing process to provide individualized care.
Requirements
  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred; Associate or Diploma degree in nursing accepted with enrollment in an accredited BSN program within two years and successful completion within four years.
