At Millennium Health LLC, we are a recognized specialty laboratory with over a decade of expertise in medication monitoring and drug testing services. Our mission is to assist healthcare providers in overseeing the use of prescription medications and illicit substances, thereby enhancing clinical decision-making for millions of individuals facing chronic pain, mental health challenges, and substance use disorders.
Role Summary:
The Phlebotomy Specialist plays a crucial role at Millennium Health. As a representative of our organization, this position is responsible for delivering outstanding care and exceptional service to patients, healthcare providers, and our laboratory team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect blood, urine, and/or oral fluid (saliva) specimens from patients.
- Process and package specimens for shipping.
- Act as a liaison between healthcare practices and the laboratory.
- Accurately document patient information, physician orders, and relevant laboratory details.
- Address any specimen-related concerns regarding billing or patient information in the ordering system.
- Manage and maintain the inventory of collection supplies on-site.
- Observe specimen collection procedures for Millennium Health specimens (when applicable).
- Travel between multiple facilities may be necessary, including occasional overnight coverage.
Candidate Profile:
- Certified phlebotomist with a minimum of 1 year of experience in the field (experience may substitute for certification).
- At least 6 months of experience as a specimen collector or 1+ years in a medical setting directly supporting patients is preferred.
- 2+ years of customer service experience may be considered in lieu of medical experience.
- Proficient in navigating smartphones and computers.
- Valid driver's license is required.
- Familiarity with medical insurance/billing and/or knowledge of medications and diagnostic codes is advantageous.
- Commitment to upholding HIPAA, HiTrust, confidentiality, and compliance policies and standards.
- Ability to maintain administrative, physical, and technical cybersecurity controls.
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
