Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Research Technologist. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting well-defined research projects involving two-photon confocal microscopy and mouse genetics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance and organization of mouse strains involved in assigned projects
  • Conduct basic histology tasks, including dissecting eye tissue, paraffin and plastic embedding, sectioning and staining of embedded samples
  • Perform experiments in Immunofluorescence
  • Assist with lab organization, inventory, record keeping, and ordering
  • Develop and enhance skills and expertise
  • Contribute to the preparation of presentations and written articles for publication
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field is required
  • Some related post-undergraduate work experience is preferred
  • Ability to work with experimental animals (mice)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, requiring up to 28 hours per week. The successful candidate will be compensated in compliance with the Johns Hopkins University requirements.
