Senior Prosecuting Attorney

Crook County is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Prosecuting Attorney to join our team in beautiful Central Oregon. As a Deputy District Attorney III, you will play a critical role in representing the State of Oregon in the prosecution of adult and juvenile criminal cases.

Duties and Responsibilities
* Represent the State of Oregon as a trial lawyer in the prosecution of adult and juvenile criminal actions in Circuit Court.
* Assist the District Attorney in performing all functions of the District Attorney, including arraignments, release hearings, restitution hearings, plea/sentencing hearings, probation and vocation hearings, civil commitments, juvenile cases, child support contempt proceedings, and jury trials.
* Supervise Deputy District Attorneys, providing support and training as needed.
* Perform case intake, reviewing police reports, determining if further investigation is required, and filing charges on behalf of the District Attorney.
* Participate in crime scene investigations, reviewing crime scenes, and advising on evidence seizure and search warrant affidavits.
Qualifications
* Law degree from an accredited law school.
* Member in good standing with the Oregon State Bar.
* 5+ years of qualifying experience in a District Attorney's Office or related field.
* Prior experience preferred but not required. Consideration given for satisfactory combination of experience and training demonstrating knowledge and abilities to perform duties outlined.

Requirements
* Current driver's license.
* Ability to complete thorough employment and/or criminal history check prior to hire date.
* Ability to pass pre-employment drug test. Final candidates required to provide official proof of college degree and certified transcripts.
