Electrical Design Engineer Role

We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer with diverse technical experience and a passion for making things work. As an Electrical Design Engineer at Sundberg-Ferar, you will play a crucial role in the product development process, from ideation to production-ready designs. Your expertise will be essential in specifying electrical components, developing embedded firmware, and optimizing circuit designs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Concept-to-production design cycles with a focus on electrical design
  • Fluent in schematic capture, PCB layout, and optimization
  • Knowledgeable in specifying electrical components, including sensors, motors/actuators, and batteries/power supplies
  • Experience with embedded firmware development and software design in both prototype and production
  • Hands-on circuit prototyping experience and design validation/troubleshooting capabilities
Desirable Skills
  • Program management experience
  • User interface design experience, including familiarity with display hardware and front-end software development
  • Robotics industry experience
  • Mechanical design skills
  • Prior experience in consulting or freelancing
  • Experience working in collaboration with Industrial Design
