Job Summary:

PAGNY is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Physician Assistant to join our team at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health. As a key member of our Emergency Medicine department, you will be responsible for facilitating open channels of communication with faculty and leadership, resolving scheduling issues, and providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities:

Facilitate open channels of communication with members of the Emergency Medicine faculty and Leadership team
Resolve scheduling and possible cross-coverage issues as they arise with individual PAs
Provide direct patient care on assigned shifts
Plan, review, and supervise the administrative and operational activities of the ED PAs related to productivity, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance
Coordinate the recruiting, interview, selection, and orientation process for ED PA positions
Conduct periodic and annual performance evaluations of ED PAs and coaching with respect to opportunities for performance and professional growth
Precept and evaluate physician assistant students rotating through the Emergency Department

Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies
A minimum of 2 years of Physician Assistant experience
Prior experience managing and developing Physician Assistants preferred
Licensed Physician Assistant by the New York State Department of Education, required
Current certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Current DEA certification
Current ACLS/BLS/PALS certification
