Job Title: Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join our team at Performance Contracting Group, Inc. in Exton, PA.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating 3D models using Revit, participating in BIM coordination and design meetings, and developing and modeling scopes as requested. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of design and document coordination, as well as proficiency in software platforms including Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage, and BIM 360 Design/Glue.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend kick-off meetings with design and operations staff to ensure understanding of project details and contract requirements.
  • Create 3D models using Revit and participate in BIM coordination and design meetings.
  • Develop and model scopes as requested, including interior and exterior walls, ceilings, and specialty panels.
  • Coordinate with point cloud files and ensure models are spatially coordinated.
  • Escalate any issues to the BIM Coordinator and Design or Operations Team.
  • Perform BIM compliance checks of deliverables and QC models against project documents for discrepancies.
  • Utilize Navisworks Manage to run clash detection and identify potential issues.
  • Attend staff training to enhance staff members' knowledge and expertise of standardized software used.
  • Create and maintain project-specific content to ensure alignment with instructions, guidelines, in-house standards, and project BIM standards.
  • Actively engage with Design and Operations Team to implement best BIM/VDC practices.
  • Coordinate with BIM/VDC service providers and clients.
  • Provide design support tasks, including processing install drawings, incorporating comments, and producing details and layout files.
  • Clean, prepare, and organize CAD/Navisworks files for field use.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (Construction Management, Construction Science, Architecture, Engineering Fields, etc.) preferred.
  • 2-year technical degree or 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • 4+ years of BIM (Revit)/VDC modeling and coordination experience.
  • Proficiency with software platforms including Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage, and BIM 360 Design/Glue.
  • Ability to present a portfolio demonstrating work in Revit and Revit Family Editor.
  • Experience with Bluebeam PDF Software.
  • Ability to understand design and document coordination.
  • Innovative and creatively minded individual looking to improve process, procedure, and construction techniques.
  • Ability to take responsibility for the outcome and results of assigned projects.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Word.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Motivated self-starter with strong work ethic and a willingness to take initiative.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as durations of independent/isolated/unsupervised environments.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to communicate the benefits of BIM/VDC, both for internal and external purposes.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience with cleanroom, non-structural metal framing, drywall, facade systems, ceiling systems preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Dynamo, Revit API, SketchUp, and iConstruct are a plus.
