Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Services Supervisor to join our team at Indy Gov. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the construction inspection activities, ensuring compliance with state and local regulations, and providing expert guidance to subordinate staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of construction inspectors, ensuring timely and accurate completion of inspections.
  • Review and approve inspection reports, itineraries, and violation notices to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Manage leave requests and act as a liaison between inspectors and management.
  • Evaluate the performance of inspectors, providing feedback and coaching to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Perform field inspections to ensure quality and accuracy of inspections.
  • Assist in the evaluation of training needs and provide on-going training to inspectors.
  • Monitor and inspect complex building projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and codes.
  • Testify in court and attend trade board meetings as required.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to inspectors, contractors, and the public.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and five years of experience in construction inspections or a related field.
  • One year of experience as an inspector and one year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • International Code Council (ICC) certifications in residential and commercial construction inspection.
  • Ability to obtain and hold Special Police Authority issued by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD).
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in enforcing regulations and codes.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent travel to construction sites and occasional work on weekends and holidays. The position requires the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in enforcing regulations and codes.
