Job Summary

The General Superintendent - Electrical will be responsible for overseeing the planning and coordination of electrical installations for new construction multifamily projects in the Indianapolis area. This role will involve managing the work and manpower of field/project foremen and crews.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination
    • Organize and coordinate multifamily construction projects through project foremen.
    • Evaluate and determine manpower needs on projects.
  • Manpower Management
    • Assist in conducting interviews for new field employees.
    • Resolve manpower conflicts and challenges on projects.
  • Project Management
    • Coordinate with project managers to operate, maintain, and meet project guidelines and expectations.
    • Maintain and meet project schedules and timelines.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Assure daily inspections are performed to meet quality expectations and guidelines.
    • Ensure foremen complete required daily paperwork and processes per company guidelines.
  • Training and Development
    • Develop and maintain training programs for field employees.
    • Provide training on project supervision, DCR reports, TBT, on-site material receiving, RFI, and RFQ processes.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Attend weekly project on-site meetings with foremen as needed.
    • Attend weekly office production meetings.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Administer and complete performance evaluations of assigned field employees.
    • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Professional Development
    • Maintain personal knowledge and proficiency on NEC Code and installed products.
    • Work with the training team to design and implement new training programs and revise old programs.
  • Safety and Compliance
    • Ensure and maintain safe projects to meet company and OSHA safety guidelines.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a related role.
    • Minimum of five (5) years' supervisor/management experience in the multifamily arena or related technical/construction field.
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Demonstrated knowledge of job costing, job planning, quality management, safety training, and contract administration.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project).
    • Highly knowledgeable of materials, methods, and tools involved in the electrical construction industry.
  • Physical and Mental Requirements
    • Ability to work a non-standard work schedule as required.
    • Ability to climb ladders, use hand and power tools, and lift 50 pounds.
