Director of Total Rewards

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Total Rewards to join our team at ilani. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and administering all employee compensation, health and welfare, recognition, and rewards programs across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote Superior Guest Service: Foster a positive organizational culture that aligns with the principles of the Spirit of Tálicn and the Core Values of ilani.
  • Lead Compensation Strategies: Develop and refine total rewards strategies to ensure alignment with business and talent needs, including comprehensive competitive benchmarking and assessment of internal metrics.
  • Manage Benefits Programs: Oversee the design and implementation of company job architecture, job evaluation, and infrastructure structure, aligning with pay plan architecture.
  • Communicate Achievements: Manage, evaluate, and communicate achievements against incentive targets to business leaders and the executive team.
  • Partner with Business Leaders: Collaborate with business leaders and the HR team on annual performance review processes and change recommendations.
  • Identify Trends and Themes: Identify compensation and benefits, rewards, and recognition trends and themes, making recommendations to revise or enhance offerings.
  • Lead Compensation Committee: Chair the Compensation Committee, creating and managing presentations and materials for the agenda, ensuring timely follow-through on approved items.
  • Monitor and Evaluate Benefits: Monitor and evaluate all benefits programs, including insurance programs, retirement plans, time-off policies, and more.
  • Lead Annual Benefits Renewal: Lead the annual benefits renewal process, 401(k) audit, true-up, and excess return, ensuring plan documents are maintained and regulatory filings are executed in accordance with requirements.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure all projects, programs, plan documentation, and communications meet applicable guidelines.
  • Coordinate with Benefit Providers: Coordinate with benefit providers on wellness and health education initiatives.
  • Negotiate Benefit Coverage: Participate in negotiating benefit coverage with benefit vendors, brokers, legal, finance, and HR.
  • Develop Communication Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy for benefits programs.
  • Work on Special Projects: Work on special projects for the HR team.
  • Maintain Knowledge of Legislation: Maintain working knowledge of federal and state legislation influencing compensation and benefits, proactively amending policies and programs as needed.
  • Collaborate with Finance: Work closely with finance to ensure effective decision-making for all compensation and benefits programs.
  • Provide Insights and Recommendations: Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on data-driven analyses supporting strategic objectives and talent management.
  • Oversee Compliance Protocols: Oversee the development and implementation of compliance protocols for all total rewards programs, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in HR, Accounting, Finance, or Payroll, with ten (10) years' experience in an HR managerial position, overseeing and administering the compliant administration of all employee compensation and company health benefits.
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster a supportive and enabling team environment.
  • Knowledge of HRIS: Knowledge of common HRIS and strong experience with Workday.
  • Project Management Skills: Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines and team standards.
  • Analytical and Organizational Skills: Analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, with planning expertise.
  • Conflict Resolution and Change Management Skills: Conflict resolution and change management skills.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • General Knowledge of Payroll Procedures: General knowledge of payroll procedures.
  • Strong Computer Skills: Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Human Resource Certification a plus (CEBS, PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP).
