Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Monitor Technician to join our team at Parkland Health and Hospital System (PHHS). As a key member of our Cardiovascular Services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor patients on telemetry and event monitors to identify cardiac arrhythmias and provide timely notification to hospital personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records of telemetry procedures and patient status, ensuring proper documentation and communication with healthcare staff.
  • Provide event monitoring services, interpreting EKG strips and informing patients of proper transmission procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and advancements in telemetry and EKG, integrating knowledge into current work practices.
  • Deliver reports to nursing units and other Cardiovascular Services teams to ensure seamless communication and information transfer.
Requirements
  • Must have completed a Medical Assistant course with EKG training or six months experience interpreting EKG rhythm strips.
  • Ability to demonstrate EKG interpretation skills during the interview process.
  • Must be able to complete a three-day EKG course or pass a challenge test with a minimum score of 80% within the 90-day probationary period.
