Cardiac Monitoring Specialist

At Parkland Health and Hospital System (PHHS), we are committed to providing exceptional patient care and promoting a culture of wellness. As a Cardiac Monitoring Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor patients on telemetry and event monitors to identify cardiac arrhythmias and provide timely notifications to hospital personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records of telemetry procedures and ensure proper documentation of events.
  • Provide event monitoring services, including interpreting EKG strips and informing patients of proper transmission procedures.
  • Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to ensure seamless communication and care.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and advancements in telemetry and EKG interpretation.
Requirements:
  • Must have completed a Medical Assistant course with EKG training or six months of experience interpreting EKG rhythm strips.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to interpret EKG rhythm strips and complete the three-day EKG course or challenge test with a passing grade of at least 80% within the 90-day probationary period.
