The College of Engineering and Computing at the University of South Carolina is actively expanding its tenured and tenure-track faculty positions in the coming years.

As part of this initiative, the Department of Electrical Engineering is seeking enthusiastic faculty members for the upcoming academic year.

All ranks are welcome to apply.

For the Assistant Professor level, candidates must hold a PhD in electrical engineering or a closely related discipline by the time of appointment, along with a demonstrated potential for excellence in both teaching and research.

Applicants for the Associate Professor and Full Professor ranks must possess relevant academic experience in accordance with institutional policies, along with a robust and sustained record of teaching and research excellence, including competitive funding and interdisciplinary collaboration.

We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in power and energy systems, especially those utilizing AI to enhance knowledge and innovation in their research domains.

Examples of relevant research areas include, but are not limited to:
Distribution Grid Design and Operation, Bulk Grid Planning and Operation, Energy Conversion, and Power Electronics Converters and Systems. The University is also involved in collaborative efforts with the U.S.

Department of Energy's Savannah River National Laboratory, aiming to foster research partnerships and develop a skilled workforce for the Lab.

Consequently, the Department seeks applicants whose research aligns with DOE priorities in energy security, national security, and sustainability.
