Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Real Estate Transaction Coordinator to join our team at Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores. As a key member of our Real Estate department, you will play a critical role in supporting the coordination of real estate acquisition, sale, use, and development activities across multiple states.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the coordination of real estate transactions, including the preparation, review, and negotiation of purchase and sale contracts, lease agreements, deeds, and other legal instruments.
- Review and analyze title commitments, exception documents, and surveys to identify and resolve title and survey issues.
- Coordinate closing activities and serve as a point of contact for opposing parties, title companies, surveyors, and other third parties and vendors.
- Review closing documents for accuracy and completeness and ensure timely compilation of closing binders for all acquired and leased sites.
- Manage contractual deadlines and communicate with internal stakeholders, including in-house attorneys and executives, to ensure compliance with real estate purchase agreements.
- Act as a liaison between the Real Estate department and other internal business clients, as well as external vendors and partners, on real estate matters.
- Assist in the education of business clients on real estate acquisition and development legal issues and procedures.
- Meet regularly with the Real Estate team to inform on the status of real estate matters and review and address real estate docket items and other matters of importance.
Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; certification as a legal assistant or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of real estate acquisition transaction experience in a law firm, title company, or corporate legal department, with experience preparing common real estate transaction documentation and familiarity with real property title matters.
- Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, and ability to learn new software applications and computer programs; working knowledge of LexisNexis or West online legal research (or willingness to learn); ability to type efficiently and prepare own documents and correspondence without reliance on dictation; strong drafting, negotiation, and oral communication skills.
Work Environment:
This position offers a hybrid schedule option, with the opportunity to work remotely 2 days per week after the training period is complete. If you prefer to work in-office, you will also have the option to work onsite 5 days per week.
