Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Early Childhood Education Assistant to join our team at the Young Mens Christian Association of Wichita Falls. As a key member of our Early Learning Academy, you will play a vital role in providing a high-quality educational experience for our young students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in implementing curriculum activities and lesson plans, ensuring a smooth and engaging learning experience for our students.
  • Provide positive guidance and support to children, using techniques that promote social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of each child's developmental milestones, attendance, and any incidents that may arise.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to establish a developmentally appropriate learning environment, consistent with our program's philosophy and goals.
  • Supervise children, classroom, and activities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all.
  • Observe, record, and report any needed repairs or maintenance to the facility, equipment, or toys.
  • Participate in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and training sessions, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Be flexible and willing to take on temporary work assignments or schedules as needed, supporting the needs of our association and team.
Requirements
  • Meet or exceed state licensing requirements for age, education, and experience.
  • Pass a licensing fingerprint check and maintain current CPR/AED/First Aid and Food Handlers certifications.
  • Previous experience working with children in a developmental or licensed childcare setting is preferred.
  • Ability to implement age-appropriate and developmentally appropriate program activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively interact and communicate with children, parents, and staff.
  • Maintain 30 hours of professional development each year.
Additional Requirements
  • Complete YMCA Child Abuse Prevention and Risk Management training, CPR, First Aid, AED, Food Handlers Certification, and Bloodborne Pathogens within 30 days of hire.
  • Adhere to association and position training requirements.
