Job Summary:

Seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide exceptional geriatric nursing care to our nation's heroes at the Arizona State Veterans' Home.

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality care to seniors. Your Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications and perform treatments as ordered by the physician and within the scope of your license.
  • Provide comprehensive geriatric nursing care, including wound care, tracheostomy care, and catheter care.
  • Observe and report the effectiveness of medications and treatments.
  • Ensure an adequate amount of supplies and medication are available.
  • Communicate with residents, family, and staff to ensure the resident receives appropriate care from the interdisciplinary team.
  • Participate in the receiving and giving of shift reports.
  • Complete the initial admission nursing assessment tool on a newly admitted resident and assist with the development of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments.
  • Supervise subordinate staff and assist as needed with direct resident care for the completion of Activities of Daily Living (ADL's).
  • Conduct and participate in in-service training and staff development programs.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings.

Requirements:

  • Current Negative TB skin test (Mantoux skin test) within the last twelve months or a written statement from a physician, physician's assistant, or a registered nurse practitioner indicating freedom from Tuberculosis.
  • Must be able to obtain and retain a fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
  • Current or temporary license to practice as a LPN nurse in the State of Arizona.
  • Current CPR card that was obtained by physical assessment.
