Job Description

The University of Virginia is seeking an experienced Inpatient Charge Nurse to join our team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our inpatient care areas, supporting the clinical and operational needs of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day operations, ensuring safe throughput and access to care
  • Collaborate with leaders and staffing resources to ensure proper staffing according to patient needs
  • Accurately document labor management software to ensure fiscal stewardship
  • Serve as a resource for team members, facilitating adherence to policies and clinical practice guidelines
  • Foster a calm and productive working environment
  • Support team members in non-patient care activities, such as professional development and breaks
  • Promote closed-loop communication and collaboration between team members, disciplines, and departments
  • Manage the care environment to meet regulatory and safety standards

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing or current enrollment in an accredited BSN/MSN program
  • RN Clinician 2 or higher with 6 months' experience on the unit or previous Charge Nurse experience from another unit/organization
  • Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification

Compensation:

$46.08 - $61.00 Hourly
