Job Overview

Position Summary

We are in search of a committed and skilled Rheumatologist to enhance our healthcare services. In this role, you will focus on the diagnosis and treatment of patients suffering from rheumatic diseases, autoimmune disorders, and musculoskeletal issues. Your specialized knowledge will be vital in delivering comprehensive patient care, alleviating symptoms, and enhancing overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with rheumatic diseases, autoimmune disorders, and musculoskeletal issues, including detailed medical histories, physical examinations, and relevant diagnostic tests.
  • Develop precise diagnoses based on clinical evaluations, laboratory findings, imaging studies, and other diagnostic tools, and create individualized treatment plans that cater to each patient's unique needs.
  • Administer evidence-based medical treatments for rheumatic conditions, which may include prescribing medications such as disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs), biologic therapies, corticosteroids, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), alongside recommending lifestyle changes and physical therapy options.
  • Perform joint injections and other procedures aimed at alleviating pain and managing inflammation, utilizing ultrasound or fluoroscopy guidance as necessary.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including primary care providers, orthopedic specialists, physical therapists, and occupational therapists, to ensure coordinated care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding their conditions, treatment choices, medication management, potential side effects, and self-management strategies for disease prevention.
  • Engage in clinical research, educational initiatives, and quality improvement projects related to rheumatology, contributing to advancements in the field and enhancing patient care methodologies.
  • Maintain precise and current medical records, including progress notes, treatment plans, medication prescriptions, and follow-up recommendations, utilizing electronic health record systems.
  • Stay informed about developments in rheumatology research, emerging treatment options, and clinical guidelines by participating in continuing medical education, attending conferences, and reviewing relevant literature.
  • Uphold ethical standards, professional guidelines, and patient confidentiality regulations in all aspects of clinical practice.

Qualifications

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position typically operates under the guidance of a supervisor, with responsibilities for planning, designing, and executing programs or projects independently. Work Environment

The work environment involves standard safety precautions typical of office settings, with adequate lighting and ventilation. The role is primarily sedentary, requiring the ability to read, write, speak, and hear effectively.

Education and Experience

  • Doctorate degree in a relevant field; or a master's degree with five years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree with seven years of progressively responsible experience. Management positions require at least five years of supervisory experience and three years of senior management experience.
  • Medical license and Board Certification in Rheumatology are mandatory.
