About the Role

As a Direct Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing top-notch nursing care as part of an interdisciplinary team. Your duties will include assisting with daily living activities (ADLs) for inmates while maintaining a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment. You will observe, report, document, and communicate interventions, treatments, behaviors, emergent needs, and situations as they arise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing quality nursing care to inmates
  • Assisting with ADLs, including personal care techniques and infection control measures
  • Observing and reporting on inmate behavior, medical conditions, and other relevant information
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues and management
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess a High School diploma or equivalent. Additionally, you must hold a valid, unrestricted Virginia CNA license issued by the Board of Nursing. If you are a recent graduate of a CNA program in VA and not yet licensed, you must have scheduled the NNAAP exam at the time of application.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a hospital, nursing, or secured patient environment
  • Knowledge of patient care, personal care techniques, and infection control measures
  • Ability to work in a secure/locked environment
Benefits
