Respiratory Therapist II

Penn Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist II to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide expert care to patients of all ages with respiratory disease or acute conditions impacting their ability to breathe.
Responsibilities- Perform physical assessments of patients' pulmonary status and provide recommendations for appropriate respiratory care.
- Administer oxygen via various delivery devices, including heated high-flow devices and a hyperbaric chamber.
- Administer aerosolized medications via nebulizer, MDI, DPI, or other devices.
- Evaluate and maintain artificial airways of various sizes.
- Set up, adjust, maintain, and clean mechanical ventilators and non-invasive BiPAP & CPAP devices.
- Transport critically ill patients on respiratory modalities.
- Respond to hospital emergencies, including rapid response and code calls.
- Utilize approved RT protocols and perform ABG and other diagnostic tests.
- Document patient care activities and enter charges in the electronic data system.
- Complete annual competencies and continuing education as required by hospital policy, credential, and state licensing requirements.
- Associate's degree and 1+ years of clinical experience.
- Graduate of a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Care program.
- State of Pennsylvania Respiratory Care License.
- Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
- ACLS recommended and NRP (ICN staff) certification required within 6 months of hire.
