Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Housekeeping Operations Manager to join our team at Marriott Marquis in New York. As a key member of our hotel's management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring that guest rooms, public spaces, and employee areas are clean and well-maintained.

Main Responsibilities

Managing Housekeeping Operations:

  • ">
  • Maintain strong working relationships with the Front Office team to ensure effective communication and coordination of operational issues.">
  • Obtain lists of rooms to be cleaned immediately and prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments.">
  • Inventory stock to ensure adequate supplies.">
  • Ensure compliance with all housekeeping policies, standards, and procedures.">
  • Initiate and maintain an effective inspection program to ensure high standards of cleanliness and quality.">

Managing Departmental Costs:

  • ">
  • Supervise and approve the budgeting and ordering of guestroom and cleaning supplies.">
  • Understand the importance of departmental operations on overall property financial goals and educate staff accordingly.">
  • Manage department controllable expenses and cost per occupied room to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.">

Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service:

  • ">
  • Respond to and handle guest problems and complaints effectively.">
  • Incorporate guest satisfaction as a component of departmental meetings.">
  • Empower employees to provide excellent customer service.">

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • ">
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, plus 2 years of experience in housekeeping or a related field.">
  • Or a 2-year degree from an accredited university in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or a related major.">
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.">
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.">
  • Familiarity with Marriott International's luxury brands and commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.">
