Event Operations Guest Coordinator

Situated within a five-hour drive of a significant portion of the U.S. population, Watkins Glen International stands as the leading road racing venue in North America, recognized multiple times as the "Best NASCAR Track" by USA Today readers. The facility hosts a wide array of premier motorsport events, including sports car, open wheel, and stock car races throughout the calendar year.
The compensation for this role is set at: $15.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
* Proactively address and resolve guest inquiries and concerns by gaining comprehensive knowledge of ticketing, camping, public safety, and organizational policies.
* Foster collaborative relationships with all departments to meet the objectives of the track and organization, including participation in business development and ticketing discussions.
* Oversee the recruitment of event staff, including tram drivers, tram ambassadors, ushers, and guest service personnel.
* Assist in the creation of informational materials for staff and guests.
* Support campground operations and the development of operational guidelines.
* Manage the ABI Workforce Management System.
* Prepare for event operational requirements, including daily assignments necessary for successful event execution.
* Coordinate group activities for Drive the Glen and Car Groups during Opening Weekend.
* Organize volunteer teams and Fan Ambassadors for major event weekends.
* Assist the team lead with special projects or additional duties as assigned (e.g., radio and cellphone badge tags, staff contact documents, Event Weekend Daily sheets).
* Willingness to travel as necessary to other NASCAR venues for operational needs and meetings.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Demonstrated understanding of the principles and techniques for planning, implementing, and supervising event personnel.
* Ability to manage conflicts, make informed decisions, and take appropriate actions during high-pressure situations based on gathered data.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
* Detail-oriented with excellent organizational capabilities.
* Maintain positive working relationships with guests, staff, rental clients, NASCAR executives, and others encountered during employment.
* Proficient in both written and verbal communication.
* Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Adaptable and willing to learn new software and systems.
* Must possess the ability to operate vehicles and golf carts.
* Availability to work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. During peak event periods, working hours may extend to ten hours a day and up to seven days a week until the event concludes. Additional weekend work may be required throughout the year for non-race events, averaging eight to twelve hours per day.
