Located in the heart of North America, Watkins Glen International is a premier road racing facility that hosts a diverse portfolio of sports car, open wheel, and stock car races throughout the year. As a Firefighter (Event Staff) at Watkins Glen International, you will be part of a close-knit team that thrives in a high-energy environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to on-track fires and extinguish flames using specialized equipment.
  • Perform salvage operations, including throwing salvage covers, sweeping water, and removing debris.
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide assistance as needed.
  • Clean and inspect equipment and apparatus after each use.
  • Identify and report any defects or issues with equipment and apparatus.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks and keep records of actions taken.
  • Keep fire trucks and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Participate in training activities and instruction sessions to stay up-to-date on the latest procedures and protocols.
  • Acquire and retain a thorough knowledge of the race track, including station numbers, emergency district locations, and other critical information.
  • Work safely and report any unsafe conditions or activities.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Fire Fighter One certification required.
  • Extrication certification preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work some weekends.
