Principal Construction Claims Analyst

Role Description:

Construction Claims Analysts are responsible for the complex review and analysis of project documentation and schedules, and the generation of reports and presentations for internal and client meetings.

Proficiency in Primavera P6 is a must as regular use of this software is a key part of the job.

Central to the success of this role is a deep understanding of project scheduling and commercial construction work, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and knowledge of contractor means and methods on a variety of different types of jobs (i.e., transportation, water & wastewater treatment, buildings, power, etc.).

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Analyze or prepare complex construction delay/disruption/acceleration and cost claims, with responsibility for the entire assignment on smaller claims, or acting as a lead on larger claims.
  2. Prepare reports, present findings to clients and assist in claim negotiations with opposing parties.
  3. Perform construction schedule reviews for ongoing projects and provide opinions, advice and reports on project progress and forecasts.
  4. Read contract language, determine proper interpretation, and apply to facts.
  5. Manage assignments and deliver profitable results within planned budget.
  6. Support and execute business development strategies to identify and deliver construction claims opportunities and engagements.
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management, Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Architecture or related degree.

A minimum of 10 years of experience in project controls, delay analysis, productivity analysis, and the resolution of claims and disputes.

A minimum of an additional 6 combined years of experience in project management, CPM scheduling, and/or contract change management.

Proficiency with Primavera P6, Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:

At least one relevant professional license or certification (PE, CCM, PMP, PSP, AIA) is preferred.

The salary range for this position is $109,000 - $175,000
