MAB Community Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Therapeutic Community Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our residential treatment team, you will play a vital role in providing supportive learning and leisure opportunities to our neurodiverse students.
Key Responsibilities- Support Student Development: Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to provide individualized supports to students based on their learning and treatment needs.
- Implement Therapeutic Frameworks: Engage with students throughout daily activities and lessons, supporting them in accessing residential programming and building relationships with skill-building and academic success.
- Provide One-on-One Support: Offer individualized support to students to enhance their engagement in activities of daily living, community involvement, and leisure activities.
- Communicate Effectively: Develop positive relationships with families and communicate effectively to ensure seamless support for our students.
- Participate in Crisis Intervention: Collaborate with the team to provide crisis intervention as needed, ensuring a safe and therapeutic learning environment.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Social Work, Education, Psychology, or a related field. Previous experience preferred, but not required.
- Skills and Competencies: Demonstrates a foundational understanding of student-staff relationships and professional boundaries. Possesses a desire and passion for working with students who present with trauma histories and diverse learning needs.
- Licensure and Certification: Valid driver's license, CPR, and First Aid certification required.
