Job SummaryAs a Medical Coder for Primary Care, you'll ensure accurate coding and abstraction of patient encounters, reviewing medical records to translate information into codes that insurers use to process claims.
You'll be responsible for confirming treatments with medical staff, identifying missing information, researching data for reimbursement needs, analyzing medical records for documentation deficiencies, and auditing clinical documentation for accuracy.
Assign codes for reimbursement and compliance, provide coding guidance to care providers, identify and resolve billing issues, and complete additional tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
RequirementsAvailability to work Full-time, On-site in Brooklyn, NY
High School Diploma or GED
2-3 years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting
Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
Proficiency in using EMR systems, experience in Advanced MD a plus
Strong grasp of medical terminology
Outpatient E/M (Evaluation management) for primary care general practice
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and expertise in coding conventions.
