Job Summary

As a Medical Coder for Primary Care, you'll be responsible for ensuring accurate coding and abstraction of patient encounters, reviewing medical records to translate information into codes that insurers use to process claims, and providing coding guidance to care providers.

You'll also be responsible for analyzing medical records for documentation deficiencies, auditing clinical documentation for accuracy, and assigning codes for reimbursement and compliance.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Availability to work full-time, on-site in Brooklyn, NY
  • A high school diploma or GED
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification
  • Proficiency in using EMR systems, with experience in Advanced MD a plus
  • A strong grasp of medical terminology
  • Outpatient E/M (Evaluation management) for primary care general practice
