Assembly Position Summary

This is an entry-level position that performs a variety of assembly operations according to work instructions. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and making adjustments according to blueprint and work instruction specifications. Additionally, they will perform compound tests, fit checks, troubleshooting, and rework on components and/or assemblies, and follow up with data entry and suggest improvements. The Assembly Technician will also be responsible for monitoring and verifying quality processes or other control procedures, as well as assisting with inventory and cycle count.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and properly use basic pneumatic tools such as drill motors, dotco's, and countersink cutters.
  • Position parts and sub-assemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
  • Prepare work to be accomplished by understanding assembly instructions, blueprints, specifications, and parts lists.
  • Read and interpret drawings, illustrations, specifications, and identify their relevance to the manufacturing of parts.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Assemble parts to subassemblies using bolts, screws, rivets, and demonstrate the proper use of adhesives.
  • Document processes by properly completing production and quality forms.
  • Verify all tools are in acceptable working condition, including calibrated equipment, and demonstrate the proper use of them.
  • Good regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Basic computer proficiency and functional knowledge with applications and activities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Basic math and reading comprehension.
