Position Overview:
The Accounting Manager will play a pivotal role within the Senior Administration, providing leadership across four primary domains: Accounts Receivable (Blackbaud Tuition Management), Student Enrollment Agreements & Financial Aid (FAST), Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), and Accounting (Blackbaud FA-NXT).

This role involves close collaboration with the Business Office team and parents to maintain current receivables and actively participate in the Flexible Tuition Committee's initiatives, supporting financial planning, accounting, and budgeting functions.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee student tuition accounts, ensuring compliance with financial policies for incoming payments.
2. Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up with parents regarding overdue payments.
3. Execute daily financial transactions, including verification, classification, computation, posting, and recording of accounts receivable data.
4. Reconcile accounts receivable to ensure accurate posting of all payments.
5. Update vendor information in the accounting system, resolve discrepancies, and address billing issues.
6. Assist the Controller with month-end and year-end closing processes, including postings, accruals, journal entries, account reconciliations, and audits.
7. Generate and distribute monthly budget reports, assisting the CFO in budget monitoring and enforcing internal controls.
8. Collaborate with the CFO in developing the annual Preliminary and Final Budgets.
9. Support the CFO and HR Coordinator in salary and benefits budgeting.
10. Conduct ongoing financial analysis to inform policy decisions and update the Multi-Year Financial Plan.
11. Maintain and revise the Accounting Policies Manual as necessary.
12. Create and distribute student Enrollment Agreements as required throughout the fiscal year.
13. Actively participate in the Flexible Tuition Committee, reviewing financial aid applications, preparing underwriting analyses, and communicating award decisions.
14. Assist with invoice processing and Accounts Payable tasks as needed.
15. Support the Business Office's management of the daily student transportation program.
16. Provide coverage for front desk and health office duties and perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field required.
- CPA certification and relevant work experience required.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit educational environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient in technology, with strong knowledge of Google Suite, Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and ideally Blackbaud.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging professionally with all organizational levels, fostering teamwork, and building positive relationships.
- Detail-oriented, able to meet deadlines, and comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with shifting priorities.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in accounting and customer service, demonstrating high ethical standards, professionalism, and strong interpersonal skills.
- First Aid and CPR training required (training provided if not currently certified). Valid CA driver license and clean criminal background check.
