Position Overview:
Spherion is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Fort Wayne. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead various projects while managing engineering and supplier resources.
Your focus will be on enhancing manufacturing engineering standards by executing mechanical tooling, fixture design, and automation solutions, collaborating closely with internal teams to create effective process design strategies.
This position demands a comprehensive understanding of FMEA, rapid prototyping, and design evaluations.If you are a detail-oriented individual who excels in fast-paced and challenging settings, we would like to connect with you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee manufacturing engineering initiatives.
- Design and implement assembly fixtures.
Develop and implement quality control inspection gauges and fixtures.
- Draft machine specifications for new equipment.
- Create maintenance protocols and upgrade procedures for all machinery.
- Formulate new work instructions and fixtures to assist the R&D team in launching new products into production.
- Champion continuous improvement efforts throughout the facility.
- Establish and uphold machine runoff protocols and maintenance schedules.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Various Shifts Available)
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with CNC machinery.
- Experience in pressure vessel testing and design.
- Proficiency in fluid flow analysis.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree
Experience:
4-7 years
Qualifications:
- Expertise in polymer welding, staking, and bonding.
- Design experience with quality inspection fixtures and gauges.
- Knowledge in Automation Technology Development: Sonic Welding, robotic controls, pneumatic press equipment, and vision systems.
- Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering.
Over 10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
Proven track record in managing equipment, tooling, and automation projects.
- Six Sigma: Statistical Process Control, Gage R&R, Correlation.
- Strong grasp and practical experience in manufacturing engineering principles and design for manufacturability.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Experience with materials such as Polymers, MIM, Castings, Stainless Steel, Brass, and Aluminum.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment.
Experience working with diverse cultures and a willingness to travel.
