Job Summary

Rural King Supply is seeking a highly skilled Transportation Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our logistics department, you will be responsible for directing and coordinating drivers to ensure timely, accurate, and safe delivery of products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate daily freight operations, including scheduling deliveries and routing of Rural King trucks
  • Communicate daily plans to drivers, stores, and other customers to ensure seamless execution
  • Schedule pickups of returned materials from stores and coordinate with the Transportation Manager to resolve driver issues
  • Seek outside line hauls from vendors or carriers to optimize profitability and reduce empty miles
  • Provide exceptional customer service and satisfaction to our stores and customers
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation regulations and monitor driver performance
  • Partner with Safety and HR to conduct driver coaching and safety communications
  • Oversee on-call responsibilities to resolve driver issues in a timely manner
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of transportation experience or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and TMW and Peoplenet systems
  • Knowledge of logistics, including carriers, shipping policies, and procedures
  • Strong understanding of Department of Transportation rules and regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on customer service and conflict resolution
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills
