About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified Academic Faculty Member to join our team at Minnesota State University, Mankato. As an Assistant or Associate Professor in the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program, you will play a key role in delivering a welcoming, high-quality educational experience for graduate nursing students.

This position promotes individualized advising and mentoring to support students' successful progression and degree completion within the School of Nursing. The successful candidate will be committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable learning environment that prepares students to deliver advanced practice nursing in a diverse healthcare landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a welcoming, high-quality educational experience for graduate nursing students.
  • Provide individualized advising and mentoring to support students' successful progression and degree completion.
  • Foster an inclusive, equitable learning environment that prepares students to deliver advanced practice nursing in a diverse healthcare landscape.
  • Collaborate with faculty, clinical sites/preceptors, and academic stakeholders to facilitate student learning, mentorship, and growth toward professional competence.

Requirements:

  • Doctorate in nursing or related field at time of hire.
  • Active unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure; active unrestricted Minnesota Registered Nurse license at time of appointment.
  • Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure at the time of appointment.
  • Current national certification in an APRN role.
  • Able to travel to clinical sites as necessary to facilitate student learning.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Nurse Practitioner with current national certification in Family, Pediatrics, and/or Women's Health.
  • Current or recent primary care experience (e.g., family medicine, internal medicine).
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
  • Effective written, oral communication, and presentation skills.
