We are seeking a skilled Telemetry Technician to join our team at Northwestern Medicine. As a Telemetry Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.
Job DescriptionJob Responsibilities:
- Perform telemetry monitoring to provide data for the diagnosis and treatment of heart conditions.
- Attach electrode lead lines to proper body areas based on type of test ordered.
- Prepare skin and surroundings to ensure valid results.
- Obtain and document ECG readings as directed.
- Perform continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
- Identify significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervene appropriately.
- Identify and correct for artifacts.
- Edit and forward results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation.
- Maintain ECG equipment and supplies.
Requirements:
- High School diploma
- Successful completion of ECG interpretation coursework
- CPR – Basic Life Support
Work Environment:
This position works 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts from 7am to 7:30pm, with a every other weekend rotation and a holiday rotation.
