Job Summary

The Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role in supporting the pharmacy team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. This full-time evening position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to assist with various tasks, including medication preparation, inventory management, and patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and package medications for patient use, adhering to strict quality control standards.
  • Manage inventory levels, rotating stock to ensure minimal waste and optimal storage.
  • Assist with ordering and receiving pharmaceuticals and supplies, maintaining accurate records and logs.
  • Deliver medications to nursing units, retrieving discontinued items and maintaining accurate inventory.
  • Perform unit inspections and emergency cart checks to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Handle controlled substances, maintaining security and accuracy in transactions.
  • Enter patient charges and credit information into the computer system.
  • Maintain accurate logs, records, and documentation as required.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Pharmacy Technician License (IDFPR).
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through PTCB or NHA required for all licensed after 2008.
