Job Overview

Utah State University Space Dynamics Laboratory is seeking experienced Spacecraft Systems Engineers to support small satellite programs. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the architecture, technical trades, risk tracking, requirements tracking, and technical progress and execution of the satellite program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain spacecraft system architectures and technical requirements
  • Collaborate with program management to ensure technical requirements and performance are achieved
  • Support interactions with customers and provide technical support to related proposal efforts
  • Work with the team to translate customer vision into technical solutions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field (e.g., aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering with coursework in space engineering)
  • 5+ years of relevant spacecraft systems engineering experience or advanced degree(s) in a related field
  • Familiarity with spacecraft requirements and subsystems design
  • Familiarity with orbital mechanics
  • Experience with spacecraft assembly, integration, and testing as well as ground system integration
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to present clearly and succinctly to customers
  • Must have or be able to obtain a DoD security clearance
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must be able to travel

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant spacecraft systems engineering experience or advanced degree(s) in a related field
  • In-depth familiarity with small satellites (
